Abstract
1425099 Peptides AKZO NV 1 March 1973 [8 March 1972] 10062/73 Heading C3H Novel peptides of the general formula wherein A is H-L-Met, H-D-Met, H-L-Met- (#O), H-D-Met(#O), H-L-Met(#O 2 ), H-DMet(#O 2 ), desamino-Met, desamino-Met(#O), desamino-Met(#O 2 ) or H 2 N-B-CO, in which B is C 1-6 alkylene; X is OH or NH 2 ; and Y is L-Phe-OH, L-Phe-Gly-OH or a group of the formula in which Alk is C 1-6 alkylene and R is hydrogen, halogen, OH, C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-4 alkoxy, and functional derivatives thereof are prepared by conventional methods. Pharmaceutical compositions having antidepressant activity comprise, as active ingredient, a peptide of the above general formula or a functional derivative thereof, together with a pharmaceutical carrier.
