Abstract

1425018 Packaging BICC Ltd 14 Feb 1974 [15 Nov 1972] 52829/72 Heading B8C [Also in Division H2] An electric fitting, which when mounted in use has part of its housing exposed, has that part enclosed in a protective packaging cover detachably secured and reattachable to the housing. The protective packaging cover 6 for a switch cover-plate 2 is of moulded sheet P.V.C. and has a protrusion 9 around its rim 7 which snap fits around the switch. Recesses 10, 11 accommodate fixing screws and a rocker of the switch. A plurality of covers may be detachably joined together by a perforated portion for use in bulk packing of switches in a box. The cover 6 is removed from the switch plate 2 while the latter is mounted and then replaced to provide protection, e.g. during subsequent operations.
