Abstract

1424638 Difluoromercapto - benzothiazole HOECHST AG 27 June 1974 [6 July 1973] 28555/74 Heading C2C 2 - Difluoromercapto - benzothiazole derivatives of the general formula wherein each of R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , same or different is H, F, Cl, Br, CF 3 , phenyl, phenoxy, nitro, C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-2 alkoxy, are prepared by reacting a compound of general formula with a difluoro-halomethane in the presence of a base and, optionally, subsequently nitrating the compound obtained. Amongst numerous examples the compounds 5- and 6-methoxy-, 6-nitro- and 4- and 5-chloro-2-difluoromethylmercapto-benzothiazole are prepared. Acaricidal compositions contain a compound of Formula I as active ingredient together with a carrier.
