Abstract

1424524 Smoke-generating compositions ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 7 June 1973 [5 May 1972] 21062/72 Heading C1D A smoke-generating combustion mixture for a sea marker comprises red phosphorus, urea, and an oxidizing agent for the phosphorus. In use, the urea decomposes to form an inert gas blanket over the combustion mixture. The oxidizing agent may be an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulphate, e.g. anhydrous calcium sulphate. The phosphorus may be coated with an oil, e.g. as described in Specification 1,424,523.
