Abstract

1423335 Controlling discharging from hoppers CAFE-BAR INTERNATIONAL PTY Ltd 2 Sept 1974 [9 Oct 1973] 38297/74 Heading B8S [Also in Division F2] The discharge of granular material from a container 10 is controlled by a butterfly valve comprising a vane 13 whose marginal portions 14 define an angle # with duct 11 which is greater than an angle # defined by an extension of the vane with said duct. Duct 11 forms part of a grain dispenser and has a hexagonal or elongated cross-section. The vane is oscillated by a handle 19 whose spindle 15 is connected to the spindle 12 of the vane, by a spring 17. The vane may have curved marginal portions, Fig. 6 (not shown), or the vane may be a single double curved plate, Fig. 7 (not shown), with an off set pivot.
