Abstract

1423198 Artificial tooth implant J M G M JUILLET 24 April 1973 [12 June 1972] 19422/ 73 Heading A5R An endoperiosteal tooth implant comprises an apertured plate 2 having on one of its faces at least one part 3, extending perpendicular to the plate, for attaching a tooth. The width of the plate is less than that of the jaw bone which is provided with a slot 7 for receiving the plate and a second slot 8 for accommodating the post which in use protrudes above the bone and engages the tooth by a complementary hole in its gingival end. The hole in the tooth and the post are preferably angular in cross section, e.g. square, the tooth being attached by a cement. A member 5 may be provided for screwing into a threaded hole in the post. The tooth being attached to a plain part 5b which may be bent as required. If the slot 7 is made wider than the thickness of the anchor plate the edges of the latter may be deformed out of the plane of the plate to obtain a close fit between the implant and bone which grows through the openings 2a. The plate 2 may have curved edges and may be bent in its plane to match the curve of the jaw aided by a notch (11) Fig. 7 (not shown) on the concave edge. A further embodiment employs a V shaped anchor plate Fig. 5 (not shown) having a flat at the apex (4) on which a post 3 is formed. Several of the same or differing lengths may be formed on a single anchor plate.
