Abstract

1423052 Gas turbine combustion chamber BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 25 March 1974 [27 March 1973] 14533/73 Heading F1L A ceramic flame tube 4 is mounted within a metal cylindrical impingement wall 2 of a gas turbine combustion chamber 1 by heat springs 6 welded to the wall 2 and abutting the tube 4 at its ends, relative thermal expansion between the flame tube and wall 2 being accommodated by sliding between one end of the springs and the downstream end of the tube, whilst the upstream end is fixed by engagement of the spring ends in a circumferential groove 5 in the tube 4. As shown, the end 7 of the sixteen springs 6 pass through slots 3 in the wall 2 and carry friction pads 9 pivotably at their free end.
