Abstract

1422807 Cosmetic containers; stopper and brush combination BRIDGEPORT METAL GOODS MFC CO 25 April 1973 19672/73 Headings B8P and B8T [Also in Division A4] In a cosmetic applicator comprising a liquid reservoir 14 and a cap 12 carrying a brush 52, the brush is mounted on a plunger 38 sliding in a sleeve 34 which forms a cap for the reservoir. This arrangement permits the length of the brush to be adjusted as desired. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the reservoir has a metallic plug 22 carrying a resilient diaphragm 24 and screw thread 32 to accommodate a corresponding internal thread on the cap. The brush is secured to the plunger 38 by a plug 60 and a head 42 facilitates adjustment of the brush. In another form (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) screw threads are provided on the plunger rather than on the sleeve. The sleeve may be of a plastic or of metal.
