Abstract

1421954 Corrugated cardboard paper ELDA AG 22 May 1973 [8 June 1972] 24331/73 Heading D2B In a method of producing corrugated cardboard sheets, a main fibre direction is obtained in a sheet from a cylinder-type cardboard machine especially when working on the counter-current principle, the sheet then being corrugated in such a manner that the majority of the fibres are disposed in the longitudinal direction of the corrugation. The corrugation is carried out in the moist state preferably above 50%. Further, the moisture should be kept below 20% after drying so that those fibres which do not lie along the longitudinal direction of corrugation have no tendency to move towards their pre-corrugation position. The raw material fed into the cylinder machine may be provided with additives which improve the water repellent or flame-inhibiting properties.
