Abstract

1421167 Stud and socket fastenings PLESSEY CO Ltd 11 April 1973 [4 Oct 1972] 45771/72 Heading E2B [Also in Division H1] A two part component such as an electromagnetic reed relay is mounted on a planar lamina support 38 (Fig. 6) by insertion of a flexible limb or limbs 23, 24 on one part through an aperture 56 in the support with flexible means such as skirts 11, 36 on the other part pressed against the surface of the support to urge projections 58, 59 on the limbs 23, 24 against the remote side thereof, The limbs 23, 24 are formed on the coil former 21 (said one part) of the relay which has four reed contact units 15, 28 mounted on a moulding 10 (said other part) having passages 12 for conductors 13 which extend through the support 38 for connection to printed circuit terminals thereon. The former 21 fits over the moulding 10 to engage surfaces 34, 35 thereof. A plurality of such relays can be mounted on a common support board (Fig. 5, not shown) with limbs from adjacent relays in the same aperture 56.
