Abstract
1421124 Wells CALGON CORP 1 April 1974 [5 April 1973] 14412/74 Heading E1F The ratio of oil and/or gas to water issuing from a well bore is increased by injecting into the formation through the well bore an aqueous solution containing a copolymer of 2- acrylamido-2-methyl propyl sulphonic acid and acrylamide. The copolymer contains from 3 to 60 mole per cent of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propyl sulphonic acid and from 40 to 97 mole per cent of acrylamide. The copolymer has a molecular weight greater than 100,000 and up to 50 per cent of the amide groups are hydrolysed to carboxylic acid groups.
