Abstract

1421036 Cartons UNILEVER Ltd 7 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5923/73 Heading B8P A container lid and/or base comprises a main panel 1 having alternate straight edges 2 and rounded corners 3, the circumference of the rounded corners being 0À6-1À8 times the length of the straight edges, and a peripheral wall 4 attached only to the straight edges and having a free edge or rim 7 defining a circle. The container member may be folded from a blank having at least one wall panel connected by a fold line 2a to a straight edge and attachment flaps 5, 6 to secure the wall panels to the remaining straight edges. The main panel may be octagonal and have either a pair of wall panels connected to opposite straight edges or wall panels connected to alternate straight edges. Alternatively the main panel may be hexagonal and have three wall panels. The blank may have a polyethylene coating so that the flaps may be secured by heat sealing. There may be ventilation openings 9a and the walls may taper inwardly towards the top. A container may have a lid as above, and a base formed by thermoforming plastics film.
