1420457 Flexible shutter G FRIGERIO 16 April 1973 [26 April 1972] 18196/73 Heading E1S A flexible shutter for moulding concrete comprises a series of parallel tubes 1 having co-operating longitudinal part-cylindrical edge surfaces 6, 7 and interconnected by chains of links 4, 5 disposed at the ends of the tubes, each link 4, 5 comprising two integral relatively offset plate portions, one of which is formed with a pin 10, 15 and the other of which is formed with a bore 11, 16 to receive a pin of an adjacent link, the portion having the bore being shaped as the cross-section of the tubes 1 and having a beading, on the same side as the pin but surrounding the bore, shaped for insertion into the end of a tube. In the links 5 disposed between two rows of tubes 1, the portion having the pin 15 has additionally an annular beading 18 on the other side for insertion, together with a complementary beading on the bore portion of the adjacent link, into the end of a tube, whereby the rows are connected side-by-side. Ends of two shutters, or of one shutter bent round to contain a closed area, are coupled by special tubes 1a and links 4a, 5a wherein the pins 10, 15 of the links are replaced by bores 20, 21, and each tube 1a contains a spring-loaded coupling pin 23 which may be actuated to extend through aligned bores 11, 20 or 16, 21 of respective links. The chain links per se are also claimed.
