Abstract
1419299 Separating OXO alcohol isomers CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS AG 4 May 1973 [6 May 1972] 21213/73 Heading C2C Straight and branched C 10-20 alcohols are separated by cooling a 20-80% solution of a mixture thereof in inert organic solvent, e.g. a C 5-12 aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon, a C 7-10 aromatic compound, a C 1-4 alcohol optionally containing up to 20% water, C 3-6 ketones, ethers or esters, CH 2 Cl 2 or CHCl 3 or their mixtures, to +25‹ to - 20‹ C. and removing the formed solid, which is enriched in straight chain isomers, the remaining solution being enriched in branched chain isomers.
