Abstract
1418722 Theft alarms KLAXON 10 Jan 1973 [11 Jan 1972] 1358/73 Heading G4N [Also in Division H1] An alarm device comprises a vibration sensitive switch having a flexible rod 24 and an annular abutment member 28 for limiting the movement of the rod, the rod and member being of electrically conductive material in their region of contact, the switch being connected in circuit with a self holding relay 42 such that contact between the rod and the member will complete the circuit to the relay and actuate the alarm. The annular abutment 28 is arranged to be freely movable so that it is self centering about the rod, and a conical collar 31 may be slid along the rod to vary the spacing between the contact surfaces. The oscillatory frequency of the rod may be varied by means of an adjustable weight 34, and a second switch, having a different oscillatory frequency may be included in the unit. The unit has lugs 27 for mounting it on a wall or on a door. Actuation of relay 42 closes self hold contact 43 and also lights a lamp 45. The second switch similarly actuates a second relay 51 to complete a circuit to an audible alarm 55. The self hold circuits of each relay include delay devices 48, 56 which release the relays after a predetermined time. Delay 56 may be rendered inoperative by closure of switch 57.
