Abstract

1418607 Chucks PAUL FORKARDT KG 17 June 1974 [4 July 1973] 26680/74 Heading B3B A chuck comprises master jaws 3 mounted for radial movement in a body 1 and provided with removable gripping jaws 4, the body 1 being closed at its front end by a cover 7, each master jaw 3 having a guiding surface bearing against the inner surface of the cover 7, the said guiding surface being formed on the master jaw around a projecting part 3b thereof which projects through an opening in the cover and to which the gripping jaw is attached. A sealing arrangement 10, 11, 12 prevent ingress of swarf. The jaws are actuated by a plunger 6 and inclined guiding surfaces between the plunger 6 and the master jaws 3. The chuck can be attached to a spindle by bolts 2.
