1418455 t - Butylbenzene COALITE & CHEMICAL PRODUCTS Ltd 29 Dec 1972 [29 Sept 1971] 45374/71 Heading C5E t-Butylbenzene is prepared by alkylating benzene with isobutylene in the presence of anhydrous FeCl 3 and HCl. Preferably the benzene is saturated with HCl, in the presence of FeCl 3 and thereafter isobutylene is passed into the mixture at a temperature below 50‹ C.
