Abstract

1418388 Moisture sensors VAISALA OY 2 Oct 1973 [12 Oct 1972] 45887/73 Heading G1N A capacitive transducer for measuring humidity is formed on a glass plate 1 Figs. 1, 2 and comprises two electrodes 2, a thin film 3 of water absorbent polymer and an upper electrode 4 which is added after the dielectric 3 has been removed from the area b to allow the upper electrode 4 to contact the left hand electrode 2. Electrode 4 is sufficiently thin to be permeable to water vapour. In other embodiments, the electrode 4 is insulated from both electrodes 2, or the latter are inter-digitated Fig. 4 and electrode 4 is dispensed with.
