Abstract

1418068 Burglar; fire alarms W YARWOOD 31 May 1973 [10 July 1972] 26119/73 Heading G4N An alarm apparatus for use with a normally open alarm sensor 17-19 triggerable by a burglar fire, &c., comprises a box 14 lockable by an arrangement (not shown) and including an alarm 21, a solenoid 23, a switch 27 settable in one condition by the solenoid when the sensor closes for energizing the alarm 21 until the switch is set manually to another condition. The alarm apparatus is set by closing either of master switches 15, 16 and when a sensor 17, 18 associated with a door or a window is closed, the solenoid 23 is energized to cause a switch arm 28 to move to close an alarm loop. The alarm may be audible, visible, a combination of both or intermittent, e.g. flashing light. The alarm can be stopped by manually pressing button 33 to cause the switch arm 28 to revert to its normal position. The alarm is also arranged to be actuated irrespective of the position of the master switch 15, 16 and without energization of the solenoid 23 if any of sensors 19, 19a, 19b are triggered by fire, excessive pressure, &c. The alarm may be disabled by operation of a switch 34.
