Money-delivering apparatus. - A change-giving apparatus comprises a cabinet A provided with shelves b<2> so arranged that a space is left, preferably at the back, down which coins may drop to the bottom of the cabinet into a drawer q, by which they may be withdrawn. Drawers d', preferably provided with a glazed iront d<4>, slide on the shelves, the bottom d<5> of each drawer extending only as far as a transverse partition d<6> across the drawer. Coins to a given amount are placed in the bottomless part of the drawer, the coins, in the partly open position of the drawer, resting on the shelf. When change for a note is required, the note is placed in the empty compartment of the drawer, which is then closed. This action brings the coin compartment away from the supporting-shelf, and the coins drop into the drawer q, and are withdrawn from the cabinet. The drawer d<3> is locked in the closed position by a hooked spring m which normally rests in a groove p in the shelf. The springs m are released, to enable the drawers to be opened for re-charging the cabinet, by rods g having wedgeshaped notches g<1> which may be held in inoperative position by the closing of a door a<4> at the side of the cabinet.. When the door is opened, the rods are moved by springs k, so that the notches move the hooked springs m out of engagement with the shelves, whereupon the drawers may be opened, preferably automatically by springs e. Other suitable means may be provided for retaining and releasing the bars g individually or collectively. An additional drawer may be provided for the reception of notes for changing notes of higher denomination. Mechanism mav be provided whereby a bell or the like is struck each time a drawer is opened or closed.
