Abstract
1417560 Automatic analysis; batch-type alternating flow-path analyzer MERESTECHNIKAI KOZPONTI KUTATO LABORATORIUM 13 Nov 1972 [21 June 1972] 52240/72 Heading G1B A sample to be tested is taken from storage tank 1 and passed to a dosing bottle 3 and simultaneously the dosing bottle 6 is charged with appropriate reagent. If necessary a second and a third reagent can be passed to further dosing bottles 9, 16. At an appropriate time interval the sample and reagent(s) are fed to the reactor 13. After stirring the reaction mixture is fed to the photo-electric detector 19. At an appropriate staggered point in time the process is repeated with a sample dosing bottle 29 and the appropriate number of reagents and reactor 21. In use the reactions overlap in such a way that the measurements alternate. Between the filling up of detector 19 it is rinsed by sample liquid controlled by lines and valves 23 and 24. Zero point corrections can be performed after washing with chemicals or distilled water from tanks 27 and 25. The components to be analyzed in the sample liquids may be the same but originating from either different sampling points or the same sampling point at different times or the components to be analyzed may be different in different samples originating from either different points or at different times. The apparatus may be used in the automatic analysis of water to determine its silicic acid content, the reagents used comprising molybdate, oxalic acid, methyl amidophenol-bisulphide, and also in the determination of phosphate in water.
