Abstract

1416815 Releasable fastenings WHITE WELDING & MFG INC 15 Jan 1973 [27 Jan 1972] 1958/73 Heading E2A [Also in Division F2] A rotary bar guide assembly 22, Fig. 1, for a locking bar 24 comprises a plate 50, Fig. 5, and a backing plate 48, Fig. 6. The plate 50 has flanges 64 provided with bolt etc. holes 70, has flanges 66 with weld-holes 74 therein and has inclined flanges 68 which connect together the respective pairs of flanges 64, 66. The backing plate 48 is provided with bolt etc. holes 60, has a guide portion 82 for the bar 24, has an aperture 86, and has a bore 80 which receives portions 78a, 78b, Figs. 2 and 7, of a split synthetic plastics bearing 52a, 52b positioned within the assembly 22. The locking bar 24, Fig. 1, has a radial extension 32 which is engageable with a keeper 36, a flange 28, Fig. 4, which is received in the aperture 86 of the backing plate 48 and a flange 30 which abuts an end of the assembly 22. In a modification the split bearing is omitted and the guide portion 82 is replaced by a guide portion 182, Fig. 8.
