Abstract
1416810 Hydrolysis of acrylonitrile copolymers CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 27 July 1973 35973/73 Heading C3P Copolymers of acrylonitrile with 0�01-30 wt. per cent of acrylamide and/or methacrylamide are hydrolysed in an acidic aqueous medium comprising nitric, sulphuric, phosphoric or formic acid. Preformed polymers may be hydrolysed, or the polymers may be produced and hydrolysed in a single reaction vessel, e.g. a mould. In examples, the acidic medium is sulphuric acid, nitric acid or nitric acid plus urea.
