Abstract

Roads and ways, arrangements of; wheel tracks.-Relates to portable tracks for conveying heavy vehicles over sand or soft soil, and of the kind formed by securing together a number of transverse sections having their under surfaces of cellular formation. The invention consists in forming the sections of channel-shape with bent strips of metal in the channels to form the cells, the side flanges of the channels abutting when they are assembled to form the track. Two connected portions of the track are shown in plan in Fig. 1, each portion being built up of five sheet-metal channels a disposed transversely to the intended track. 'Within each channel is fixed a metal strip d bent in zigzag form to produce on the underside, as shown in Fig. 2, a number of cells. The sides of the track portions are provided with convex plates e, Fig. 6, and also with clips g to receive wedges f for fixing the portions together.
