Abstract

1414440 Valves M H GROVE and J M E GROVE [trading as M & J DEVELOPMENT CO] 24 April 1974 [24 May 1973] 17915/74 Heading F2V A seat ring 56 for a valve is urged towards the closure member 13 by a spring 64 and forms with the valve body 10 an annular space into which plastic sealant may be introduced through a fitting 67, the sealant being retained by a ribbon 68 bent into the form of a hoop. The sealant is conveyed by ducts 77 to a region 76 between nylon seals 72, 81 and a synthetic rubber seal 73 held in place by deformation of a lip 75 on the ring. Two seat rings may be provided. The closure member has recesses lined with sleeves of low-friction plastics material to engage trunnions. An operating shaft extends through one of the trunnions for engagement with the closure member.
