Abstract

1414227 Rollers A B CHRISTOFFERSON 5 March 1973 [6 March 1972] 10618/73 Heading F2U [Also in Division B6] A printing cylinder comprising a shaft 5 and a sleeve 2 carries a mechanism at each end of the sleeve in order that the spacing between the shaft and the sleeve may be altered. Such mechanism takes the form of three screws 8, 9, 10 which are located in a plastics bush 14 and abut the shaft 5. The sleeve may be an aluminium or steel tube 3 enclosed in plastics, e.g. foamed polyurethane, cover 4. The latter may carry a copper, zinc, magnesium or aluminium layer upon which the image is formed. The sleeve is spun cast in a tilted mould.
