Abstract
1413905 Concentrating fluorosilicic acid FISONS Ltd 23 April 1974 [8 May 1973] 21821/73 Heading C1A A process for concentrating an aqueous solution of fluorosilicic acid (such as the solution obtained during the evaporation of wet process phosphoric acid) comprises evaporating the solution in a first stage and passing the vapours generated to a second stage, operated at a lower pressure (and optionally at a lower temperature) than the first in which the fluorine compounds in the vapours are recovered from the vapours, e.g. by scrubbing with aqueous fluorosilicic acid. Before passing to the second stage, the vapours may be submitted to a treatment to remove entrained impurities.
