Abstract
1413829 Recovering cobalt and manganese STANDARD OIL CO 8 Dec 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 56737/72 Heading C1A [Also in Division C2] Cobalt and/or manganese are recovered from catalyst residues which result from the production of aromatic carboxylic acids by (1) extracting the residues with 1-10 parts of water, (2) separating the undissolved portion of the residues from the extract solution and (3) precipitating cobalt and/or manganese carbonate from the extract solution by adding an alkali metal carbonate and/or bicarbonate to a pH in the range of 7 to 9, and (4) separating the Co and/or Mn values from the aqueous phase.
