Abstract

1413447 Stepping motor control SIEMENS AG 30 April 1974 [30 April 1973] 18960/74 Heading H2J A stepping motor, having #-connected stator windings W AB - W BC , is provided with a control circuit comprising AND gates 7-9 and a corresponding set of controllable switches which may be relays 1-3 controlled by the outputs of respective gates and providing controlled paths between a source U B and the nodal points A-C of the windings which are thereby energized by signals applied at inputs 4-6, and signalling means 11 operable to supply a signal to the other inputs of the gates to disable them when the magnitude of the current flowing in the energized windings exceeds a predetermined value. The arrangement is intended for use with a source U B of a voltage which would render winding currents too high, and the provision of the gates and device 11 provides a pulsed current in the windings whilst signals at 4-6 are present. The switches 1-3 provide further controlled paths to an earth point M via line 12 and a resistor 13 provides a current indicative signal to the device 11. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), push-pull transistors replace the relays 1-3.
