Abstract

1413365 Surgical optical instruments SPITALUL COLTEA 15 June 1973 28502/73 Heading A5R [Also in Division G2] An endoscope comprises a mirror A rotatably supported on a supporting device B which is itself rotatable about the optical axis of an ocular means or microscope F and located within a speculum D, means being provided for directing warm air onto the mirror to prevent misting thereof. A retaining device G for engaging the patient's uvula and soft palate comprises a curved plate 36 which is extended by a slide bar slidable in a guide 37 carrying an outer hinged curved plate 40, the plates 36, 40 being adjusted by a catch r which co-operates with teeth g on the slide bar. The mirror is carried by tubular arms 6 one of which is connected at 23 to a source of compressed air, the arms being connected to a channel a in the mirror frame I which is provided with air outlet channels b. The mirror is adjusted by connecting rod 16 moved by means of knob 10.
