1412076 Ball and socket joints C VERNASCA 9 April 1973 [28 June 1972] 16930/73 Heading E2F [Also in Division F2] A ball and socket joint comprises a stud 10 secured by a pin 12 to a shaft A and having a ball-head 14 held in a recess 16 of a block 18 by a ring 22 which is screwed into the block. Springs 24 act between the shaft A and a flange 20 of the block 18 and seal the joint.
