Abstract

1337823 Universal joints LEMFORDER METALLWAREN AG 8 June 1971 [24 June 1970] 19468/71 Heading F2U A Hookes' joint includes a bearing comprising a metal (e.g. sheet metal) cup 8 having a plastics sleeve 14 able to rotate therein and transfer axial load thereto. The cup may have an inwardly facing lip 11. The sleeve may have a flange 15 to transmit axial thrust either as shown in Fig. 2 or extending into the space 16, Fig. 1 (not shown) which may contain lubricant. If the sleeve 14 terminates at the lip 11 a seal (12) may be necessary at the location of the flange 15.
