1411843 Modifying polymers UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE 22 Feb 1974 [28 Feb 1973] 9833/73 Heading C3P The properties of a solid polymer containing carboxyl or amine groups, especially in film or membrane form, are modified by reacting the polymer with a gaseous alkylene oxide, especially ethylene oxide or propylene oxide. In examples the following copolymers are reacted: acrylonitrile/acrylic acid, acrylonitrile/dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and acrylic acid/nbutyl methacrylate. Use.-Membrane separation processes.
