Abstract

1411457 Toothpaste COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 1 Oct 1973 [10 Oct 1972[ 45815/73 Heading A5R A tooth-cleaning device comprises a body of material 11 shaped to provide a pocket 13 for receiving the user's finger-tip the outer surface of the device having adhered to it an encapsulated flavouring agent. The material may consist of polythene-coated crepe-paper, the polythene coating being on the inside to provide a high-friction lining. The edges of the device are heat-sealed together to produce edges hard enough to permit their being used to clean between teeth. The encapsulated agent is a hydrophilic colloid, e.g. vegetable gum and the flavouring agents include mint, aniseed and cloves. Antioxidants may be incorporated. The outer crepe-surface may be roughened and may be coated with abrasive. As shown in Fig 2, a block of tooth cleaners may be packaged into a book-like dispenser.
