Abstract
1411382 Measurement of radio-activity in competitive assay RADIOCHEMICAL CENTRE Ltd 18 Dec 1972 [16 Dec 1971] 58566/71 Heading G1B In performing an analysis in which a radioactive element or compound is partitioned between two phases, the level of radio-activity of at least one of the phases is measured while that phase is in contact with the other phase. In one embodiment a lead base surrounds the tip of a centrifuge tube containing a solid phase, the supernatant liquid phase being unscreened. In another embodiment, only a part 25 of the liquid phase 22 overlying a sediment 24 is exposed by shielding 18, 19 and measurements are made.on that part.
