Abstract

1410523 Subaqueous structures EXXON PRODUCTION RESEARCH CO 15 Nov 1972 [26 Nov 1971] 52670/72 Heading E1H A sea bed installation for the production of gas and/or oil from a plurality of wells comprises a base 11 resting on the sea bed supporting a superstructure 12 surrounding the wells 1-3 and including a system of manifolds 30 linked to each well and providing production maintenance and control piping, a track 40 surrounding the manifolds 30, and hydraulic power, electric power and block valve units 45, 47 and 46 mounted on the base, the manifolds and track being disconnectable into sections, e.g. for replacement. The manifolds are mounted on bulkheads and include piping for. production A, gas injection B, water flood and production C, maintenance lines D and E, drain lines F and scraper pig launch magazine G. Replacement of faulty valves and other maintenance work may be effected remotely by means of a carriage 100, Fig 6, which may be operated to haul itself down a cable to engage track 40, the carriage having a tool 103, e.g. for disconnecting a valve, or other equipment, racks for replacement valves 105, and observation cameras 106. The carriage also includes a diving chamber 102.
