Abstract
1410255 Cooling liquids PORTER-LANCASTRIAN Ltd 9 Jan 1974 [13 Jan 1973] 1890/73 Heading F4H A feed pipe for cool material, e.g. a liquid beverage such as beer, extends along part of its length longitudinally of and adjacent to a pipe forming a closed circuit 2 for coolant fluid, the closed circuit including a pump 3 and being in heat exchange relationship with the evaporator 10a of a refrigeration unit 10. As shown, the closed circuit 2 comprises a nylon tube connected to a header tank 9 and containing water which is circulated by the pump 3. Feed pipes 14, 15 extending between a cellar and dispensing taps 1 are secured to the outside of the tube 4 along portions 12, 13 of the circuit 2 or pass through the centre of tube 4, the assembly being enclosed in an insulating sleeve 16. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), two closed circuits are provided for extending to different floors of a building, the two circuits having a common portion containing a pump and a heat exchanger.
