Abstract

1409567 Enriched irrigation water J G FIGARI 20 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 53543/72 Heading C1B [Also in Division B1] A process for enriching irrigation water comprises feeding vegetable resin into water, mixing, foaming by an air/nitrogen gas stream, adding particulate nutrients to the foam and then feeding the mixture into an irrigation channel. A suitable enriching plant is described and may be illustrated with reference to Figs. 1, 3, 4 and 5 wherein a main channel divides off an irrigation feed channel 2. Resin is added to the water flow at a mixing station containing pistons 3 and the mixture then passes along duct 5 to cells 8. A stream of air/nitrogen from compressor 9 carries the resin/water mixture upwardly in the cell wherein rotating vanes 16 cause a foam to be produced. Mineral substances from hopper 18 are fed via shoot 21 into the foam. The enriched foam flows over the lips 22 of the cells into a pool of water in 26 and then passes along channel 27 into main channel 1.
