Abstract
1408952 Steam generators SIEMENS AG 17 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 53377/72 HeadingF4A In a steam generator in which water flows beneath a partition 12 to pass upwardly over U-tubes 2 through which a primary heating medium of a nuclear reactor is circulated, and steam passes to outlet 6 via a water separator 5, feed water is discharged through pipes 15 into the water leaving the separator 5 to condense any residual steam. The pipes 15 extend radially from a distribution pipe 9 connected to an inlet 8 and are provided with discharge apertures 15a. Alternatively the pipes can be supplied from a central distribution pipe (18, Fig.4) or may be mounted above the separator with discharge pipes (16 Fig. 3) extending down into the separator. In a further modification water from the separator mixes with feed water passed upwardly from a distribution floor (19, Fig. 5).
