Abstract

1408904 Inverting LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS-GmbH 21 Aug 1972 [19 Aug 1971] 38846/72 Heading H2F In an inverter of the type in which three single-phase inverters 11, 21, 31 each feed a primary of a three-phase transformer Tr, the secondary windings of the transformer Tr are connected in star and a voltage taken between each secondary and the neutral Mp to feed respective voltage regulators 18, 28, 38 for the single-phase inverters 11, 21, 31. As described, a frequency source 13 supplies the thyristors of the inverter 11 directly and supplies the other inverters 21, 31 via 120 degrees phase shifters 23, 33. Each inverter 11, 21, 31 may be formed of two groups of thyristors (as described in Specification 1,302,304), the output voltage being a function of the phase displacement between the two groups. Alternatively, each inverter may have voltage adjustment by adjustment of the direct current fed to it. The secondary windings 12, 22, 32 are connected in zig-zag or, as in Fig. 1 (not shown), three such windings may be connected in star. Third harmonics are short-circuited by means of tuned circuits 16, 26, 36. The effect of chokes 14, 24, 34 ensures that the output voltages are regulated symmetrically despite unbalanced loads.
