Abstract

1408764 Lamps TIDELAND SIGNAL CORP 30 Oct 1972 [23 Dec 1971] 25774/74 Divided out of 1408761 Heading F4R [Also in Division G4] The subject-matter is contained within the Specification 1,408,761, but the claims are concerned with a navigational light including a timer 14, a lamp-failure sensing circuit 24, a lamp-changing mechanism 26, 28 having a rotatable turret with lamps therein, a power brush for supplying power to lamp contacts and switching means connected to and actuable by the lamp-changing mechanism, said switching means, when actuated, being operative to disconnect the timer from a lamp thereby to disconnect power from the brush while the turret is rotating, to prevent arcing between the brush and contacts. The turret is indexed by a motor through a one-way clutch, the contacts each include a recess in the turret and the brush is a spring- brush with a ball tip. A reversing pulse is supplied to the motor at the end of the turretindexing motion to allow the tip of the brush properly to locate in a contact recess to align a new lamp with a lens system.
