Abstract

1408188 Sealing strip J O OLSSON 7 Nov 1972 [8 Nov 1971] 51393/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] A self-adhesive sealing material in strip form comprises a cellular layer, an adhesive film formed on one surface of the cellular layer and a non-cellular layer formed on the opposite surface thereof, the non-cellular layer having an outer surface having recesses and glazed by a coating of a gloss lacquer, so that the strip material may be rolled up and unrolled without the adhesive film being removed on to the non-cellular layer. In an embodiment a porous layer 10 of resilient polymer such as cellular plastic or rubber having essentially closed cells has homogeneous integral layers 11 and 12 and a layer of non-drying glue 13. This layer may consist of paper or plastics material coated on both sides with the glue. The glue layer may be applied directly to the layer 10 without the intermediate layer. Layer 12 is made with a glazed surface and is provided with recesses by an embossing, e.g. grained or corned, of orange-peel texture or having a rifled surface.
