Abstract

1407937 Anti-acne medicaments STIEFEL LABORATORIES INC 16 April 1974 [16 April 1973] 16552/74 Heading A5B A composition for treating acne and seborrhea comprises from 1 to 30% by weight of benzoyl peroxide having a particle size below 100 microns in a single phase base comprising water, 10 to 80% of a C 1-3 alkanol and 1-30% of a non-ionic surfactant which is soluble in the vehicle. Suspending agents and viscosity builders of known types may also be present. Suitable surfactants are polyoxyethylene esters and ethers and polyoxyethylenepolyoxypropylene polymers.
