Abstract

1407751 End anchorage device for tensioned wires; clamp BUREAU BBR LTD 24 Sept 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 44705/73 Headings E1W and E2B Stressing wires for building structures are anchored in tension by an apparatus conaprising an anchor plate 3 with tapering recesses 5 communicating with through bores 2a. Clamping wedges e.g. split collets 4 are associated with the recesses 5 and or biassed out of the recesses 5 by springs 1 into engagement with an engagement plate 6 with corresponding bores 6a. In use the wires or cables may pass freely through the bores in the plates. When tension has been applied the engagement plate 6 is moved towards the anchor plate 3 forcing the split collets into the tapered bores and clamping the wires in the anchor plate 3.
