Abstract

1407504 Self-processing film units EASTMAN KODAK CO 7 Sept 1972 [7 Sept 1971] 41567/72 Heading G2X The arrangement disclosed is identical with that described and illustrated as the first embodiment in Specification 1406248, but the emphasis is on the masking element 55. This is made of a thin flexible material, and is disposed between the photo-sensitive sheet and the process sheet (11, 13), Fig.1 (not shown). The lateral border portions 57 of element 55 are attached to the sheets (11 and 13) by adhesive strips 63, 65, so that the sheets are permanently sealed together, the central part of the mask defining the picture area. The transverse border portions 59 and 61 of the mask, however, are sealed to the photosensitive sheet (11) only; by adhesive strips 20a, 21a. The mask is extended from border portion 59 to form the sheet 33 which forms part of funnel 25 which guides the processing material between the sheets (11 and 13). Sheet 33 is also sealed to the end cover portion (26) Fig.1 (not shown), by adhesive strip 22a, and by adhesive strip 35 to the processing material container (23). Adhesive strips 65 above the mask laterals 57 are extended to seal the upper funnel sheet (34) to the lower sheet 33. A similar sealing arrangement is provided at the trap end. The mask element 55 also acts as a spacer between the photo-sensitive sheet and the processing sheet, and this spacing may be varied using a different thickness of mask during manufacture.
