Abstract
1406959 Measuring humidity electrically ATMOS FRITZSCHING & CO GmbH 19 Oct 1973 48906/73 Heading G1N A portable wet and dry bulb hygrometer comprises a first temperature sensitive resistance element 72 Fig. 1 in a sealed chamber 24, sensing the dry ambient temperature by contact with a metal ring 70 forming part of chamber 24, sensing second temperature sensitive resistor 82 Fig. 5 maintained inside a chamber 26 made of gaspermeable material, in a wet atmosphere by water in a reservoir 22, fed through an absorbent rod 44 and carried on by a capillary tube 48 and a wick 104 to an evaporator 88 in which the element 82 is located. The two resistance elements 82, 72 are connected in the feedback paths of amplifiers AI, All Fig. 7 whereby the output voltages U 1 , U 2 are respectively proportional to the wet and dry temperatures. The algebraic difference is obtained in amplifier AIII whose output, indicated on meter I, represents the humidity of the test atmosphere. Operating switch 5, to cut out the wet temperature voltage signal enables meter I to indicate ambient temperature.
