Abstract

1406687 Electrostatic developer XEROX CORP 19 Dec 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 58568/72 Heading G2H An electrostatic toner comprises particles with cores of a material which is normally solid, but flows under pressure and acts as an adhesive, encased in rupturable shells. Pressure, or a combination of pressure and heat, is used to rupture the shells and cause fixing. Preferably the toner contains carbon black pigment, and is used with glass or coated steel carrier beads. Powdered silica may be incorporated in the developer. Numerous examples are given.
