Abstract

1405394 Applying foam to carpets BISSELL Inc 8 Feb 1974 [9 Feb 1973] 5888/74 Heading A4F Foam may be applied to a nap surface by means of apparatus comprising a liquid distributer 10, means 8 to supply liquid shampoo to the distributer 10, a cellular compressible roller 11 disposed below the distributer and a rotatable brush 13 which is adjacent the roller 11 and has rows of bristles 16 compressibly overlapping the peripheral portion of the roller 11 so as to create foam from the liquid. The brush 13 may be driven by a motor 17 and may include helical rows of bristles 16 which effect a progressive kneading action. The brush 13 may be rotated in either sense.
