Abstract

1404801 Picture mounts R BUSSE 7 Aug 1972 [11 Aug 1971 (2) 25 Jan 1972] 36697/72 Heading A4X [Also in Division G5] A mount for a laminar object, e.g. a picture or photograph, comprises two edge portions that retain opposite edges of the object and a concave central portion provided by at least two members defining an aperture between them. A laminar, flexible object may be inserted by convexly bending it, inserting opposite edges in the edge portions and pushing it against the central portion into a concave shape. In Fig. 2 edge portions 1, 1a with U-shaped retaining rims 12, 112 are attached by grooved portions 13, 113 to portions 23 of webs 2. A transparent cover and a backing member, inserted in the same way as the object may be provided to give additional rigidity to the object. Otherwise transparent covering strips 300 are provided. A stand is inserted in the screw hole 20 in a central web 2 to support the holder on a horizontal surface, or the holder is screwed to a wall using the holes 20. The edge portions may be formed by rods (50, 51) Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), and the central webs by strips (9) which, together with the object (3) and its cover (30), are retained in the U-shaped projections (60, 61) of members (6) clipped on the rods. Rod portions (52-55) support the mount on a horizontal surface or space the object from a wall. The rods may form a cube with strips (9) extending across five faces which each carry a laminar object.
