Abstract

1404790 Teaching the alphabet N W GAULD 9 Oct 1973 [20 Oct 1972 7 Nov 1972] 48423/72 and 51269/72 Heading G5G An educational aid comprises a letter card for each letter of the alphabet and a plurality of letter-bits which can be combined to make up the letter on each card, each card also bearing pictures of the bits needed to make up the letter. The markings may be on one or both faces of each card (Fig. 6, or Fig. 5). A blank double-sized card may be provided for a pupil to make up a letter. The rear of the card may have guide lines so that, by placing a sheet of paper over the card, the pupil may practice drawing a letter. Lined sheets of paper may be provided. A master card may carry all the markings. 21 letter-bits are provided for lower-case letters and 24 for upper-case. The cards are of polystyrene and the bits of rubber.
